Claim Confidence By the Buckton team

Many rejected claims come down to the same handful of misunderstandings. Knowing them protects you.

Comprehensive does not mean everything

A comprehensive motor policy still has exclusions and conditions. It may not cover a driver not listed on the policy, or a car used for business when it is insured for private use.

Market value versus retail value

Many vehicle policies settle at market value, which is often lower than what you would pay to replace the car. Ask which basis your policy uses.

Excess can stack up

Young drivers, single vehicle accidents and windscreen claims may each carry an extra excess. Know your total before you need to claim.

Credit shortfall is a separate cover

If your car is written off and you still owe more than the payout, the difference is yours to pay unless you have credit shortfall cover.
